Renting a flat in Rome
Main Post:
Not sure if this is a right sub, hoping someone can help.
I have decided to relocate to Rome for 6 months to learn Italian, but seems like it is not going to happen, because i cannot find a flat. The only responses i am getting are scammers that "live outside the country and need payment ahead".
I checked on casa.it and idealista.it
Are those bad websites to check? Is there any other website for short-term rent / sublet?
My only requirement is a very central flat (ideally aiming for Piazza Navona or 30-50 min walking distance from most central areas). Besides that it can be anything - any size (can be like 15 sq.m), furnished or unfurnished, no pets. I have been searching for prices up to €1k / month - is it too low for that? I have tried to write to landlords in English and Italian (just a generic "i am interested" message).
Is there something wrong with what i am doing?
Top Comment: Spotahome or maybe even Airbnb would be your best bet for something like this The main site we use is immobiliare.it but it is aimed towards people looking for homes, long term rental - the contracts are usually either “transitorio” which is usually minimum a year, or the standard 3+2 6 month rentals are unlikely to be found on the normal real estate sites
Rome apartments
Main Post:
I’m planning on moving to Rome in the next 8-10 months. I’ve only stayed in hotels there. Does anyone have a recommendation of a place to rent an apartment? Neighborhood, building, management company.
Looking for a 1 year stay, rental, not to buy, no roommates. A nice but boring place, modern-ish. Probably a larger building with corporate owners. A nice place to live, not a place to call home.
I will be there to look for places before moving, so I’d like to get a good list before I go check things out.
Thanks for any suggestions.
Top Comment: Rome is an old city, it is difficult to find truly modern flats. The best you can get in the city centre are 100-years-old buildings. They might be refurbished inside but you will not have the amenities you might be used to.
Apartments for rent 1-3 months
Main Post:
I visited Rome last year and fell in love! All of my favorite artworks were scattered throughout the city, it was a dream come true. I would like to attend a language school or attend and art atelier for a month or two and was wondering what the best place to look for a rental in the city center/ trastevere is?! AirBB is kinda pricey for long stays like this.
Any suggestions?

Best Source for Booking Rome Apartments
Main Post:
Hello - looking for recommendations for booking luxury apartments in Rome. I've used ParisPerfect in the past for France and am looking for something similar. So far, I've found RomeLoft and have been searching air BNB, but looking for other recommendations. We are looking for a 3bed/3bath, centrally located during Holy Week in March 2024. Thanks in Advance!!

Apartment hunting for a month's stay
Main Post:
I'll be staying in Rome for a research trip for about a month this autumn, so I'm looking for accommodation for that time. I've looked at housingeverywhere, airbnb, spotahome and uniplaces, but I'm wondering if there are any more websites that are helpful in the search?
I see there's lots of options for rooms in shared apartments, but as an introvert who loves silence and being reclusive at home, I'd prefer something of my own like a studio apartment 😅 Many of the options I've looked at also requires a deposit and doesn't have all the bills included, which to me seems a bit of a hassle to deal with for only a month

Unfortunately not. Maybe VRBO as well. But nothing cheap, there's slim pickings out there, and given the number of scams around you're safer going through a platform than privately.
Apartments for rent

Hi all,
I git accepted into La Sapienza and I am currently looking for a place to rent in rome. I searched and found the idealista website, but I have not gotten a reply from there in weeks. Are there any other such websites or agencies I can use to find a good place to rent?

Hi, we are a married couple, coming to Rome on September 26th. We are looking for an apartment in the city center for a long-term contract (close to Sapienza and LUMSA, PRATI would be a great option). Our budget is about EURO1500 per month. Appreciate your help, Thanks.
